The dry Western Cape can expect more rain, and gale-force winds will hit the Eastern Cape coast on Wednesday.
Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the Central Karoo of the Western Cape and the north-western parts of the Eastern Cape.
Rain is predicted for most of the Western Cape, while isolated showers and thunder showers are expected in other provinces.
It will be cool to warm over most of the country, but warm to hot in the Eastern Cape, where the wind along the coast will be fresh to strong south-westerly, reaching gale force offshore between Cape St Francis and Algoa Bay in the evening.
Pretoria is expected to experience a maximum of 24°C, while Johannesburg is expected to have a high of 25°C. A high of 22°C is predicted for Bloemfontein.
Along the coastal regions, Cape Town is expected to reach 18°C, Port Elizabeth 23°C and Durban 28°C.
