Cape Town - The Melbourne Rebels have defeated the Blues in their Super Rugby encounter at Eden Park in Auckland on Saturday morning.

The Rebels won 20-10 after leading 10-12 at half-time. 

The Australian-side ran in three tries through South African-born Dane Haylett-Petty and a brace by centre Bill Meakes.

Flyhalf Reece Hodge landed a conversion and a penalty as the Rebels won their first match at Eden Park.

Meanwhile, the home side could only manage a sole try through centre Terrence Hepetema with flyhalf Stephen Perofeta kicking over the conversion and penalty.

This win sees the Rebels move to the top of the Australian conference standings, and the Blues remain at the bottom of the New Zealand conference.
