A light aircraft has crashed off the coast of west Wales.

Pictures on social media show an aircraft that has crashed into the Irish Sea at Whitesands Bay in St David's, Pembrokeshire.

The pilot has been pulled from the aircraft and is being checked by paramedics after the crash at about 13:30 BST on Tuesday.

An air ambulance is at the scene and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency is in charge of the rescue operation.
